Self-audit case study
How Amplitera verified its own 45-page SEO launch.
The first Amplitera search surface shipped with 45 canonical English pages. The audit did not stop at successful direct responses: it tested navigation, document-head ownership, crawlability, internal targets, accessibility, and the limits of the available performance evidence.
The launch scope
Sitemap acceptance and URL discovery were recorded separately from indexing and ranking. Google-controlled outcomes were still processing and were not presented as completed SEO results.
- 45 canonical URLs across product, solutions, checks, guides, comparison, and company pages
- One distinct title, description, H1, and canonical per sitemap URL
- 45 distinct internal link targets checked against live production responses
- A verified Search Console domain property and an accepted sitemap with 45 discovered pages
A 200 response did not prove navigation worked
Direct marketing routes returned successful responses, but the production navigation adapter threw when a visitor clicked an internal link. The shell moved to browser-native anchors and the release was verified by clicking through Product, SEO checks, Guides, Compare, and the application route with no console errors.
The lesson was operational: crawl checks and direct URL tests need an interactive path check when the framework owns client navigation.
Metadata needed document-head evidence
The rendered response initially placed page metadata after the closing head element. A streaming edge rewrite moved the page-owned title, description, robots, canonical, Open Graph, Twitter, and icon tags into the document head while removing framework duplicates.
The final check found one head title, description, robots directive, and canonical on every indexable page, no body duplicates, and a noindex 404 with no canonical.
Verified outcome and measurement boundary
Two unthrottled lab traces measured 127–162 ms TTFB, 233–264 ms LCP, and 0.00 CLS. These are laboratory observations, not field performance. No CrUX data was available, and the case study does not claim ranking gains.
- All 45 sitemap URLs returned 200 with unique titles and descriptions
- All 45 internal targets responded without broken-link failures
- The www host preserved path and query while redirecting permanently to the apex domain
- The protected application remained private and noindex
- Mobile Lighthouse scored 100 for accessibility, best practices, SEO, and agentic browsing
